Hydromax in Sheffield
When a skin booster isn't quite enough — but filler isn't what you need
Hydromax sits beautifully between a traditional skin booster and dermal filler. It combines deep hydration with subtle support, making it one of our favourite treatments for areas where the skin is becoming thinner, crepey or more lined — but where we don't necessarily want to add obvious volume.
It's particularly useful for crow's feet, accordion lines and fine lines through the cheeks, helping the skin look smoother, fresher and better supported while keeping the result really natural. At Saints, we often recommend Hydromax to clients who tell us "I don't want filler — I just want my skin to look better," and that's exactly where this treatment comes into its own.

About This Treatment
What Is Hydromax?
Hydromax is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment designed to improve hydration, elasticity and skin quality while providing subtle support within the skin. This is what makes it a little different from a traditional skin booster.
A standard skin booster primarily focuses on hydration. Dermal filler is generally used when we want to create volume, shape or structure. Hydromax sits somewhere in the middle — it gives us more support than we'd expect from a traditional skin booster, without treating the area in the same way we would with a volumising dermal filler.
Benefits & Areas
What Do We Use Hydromax For?
Hydromax can be particularly useful for crow's feet, accordion lines on the cheeks, fine cheek lines, crepey skin, dehydrated skin, fine lines and wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and skin that's beginning to look thinner or less supported.
Accordion lines are the fine lines that can appear across the outer cheeks, particularly when you smile. They're completely normal, but as collagen, elastin and hydration within the skin reduce with age, they can become more noticeable — this is an area where simply adding filler isn't always the answer. Hydromax allows us to focus more on the quality and support of the skin itself.
Your Treatment
What Happens During Treatment?
We'll start by looking properly at your skin and the areas that are bothering you, assessing your skin quality, facial movement and what's actually contributing to the lines you're seeing. If Hydromax is suitable, the product is carefully injected into the areas we want to treat. You may notice some small bumps, redness or swelling at the injection sites immediately afterwards, which usually settle following treatment — we'll explain exactly what to expect and give you full aftercare advice before you leave.
For best results, we recommend an initial course of 2 Hydromax treatments, 3 weeks apart. The treatment works gradually to improve hydration and skin quality while giving subtle support to areas where fine lines and crepiness have started to become more noticeable. After your initial two sessions, we'll assess your results and advise you on maintenance treatments where appropriate.
Additional Information
Hydromax Vs Skin Booster Vs Filler
This is probably the easiest way to understand Hydromax: a skin booster addresses hydration, Hydromax addresses hydration plus subtle support, and dermal filler addresses volume and structure. They're different treatments, and one isn't necessarily better than another — it all depends on what we're trying to improve. If your concern is fine lines, crepey skin, crow's feet or accordion lines rather than significant loss of facial volume, Hydromax may be a more appropriate option than simply adding filler.
There are so many injectable skin treatments available now that it's easy to feel like you need to know exactly what to book — you don't. At Saints, we'll look at your skin, listen to what's bothering you and explain which treatment we think will actually give you the best result. Sometimes that's a traditional skin booster, sometimes it's Hydromax, and sometimes filler, polynucleotides or a completely different skin treatment will make more sense. We'll recommend what your skin needs rather than what's currently trending.
Results, Downtime & Aftercare
When Will I See Results?
Hydromax isn't about dramatically changing your face overnight. We're looking for a gradual improvement in hydration, smoothness, elasticity and the overall quality of your skin — results develop following your treatments, which is why we recommend completing both sessions in your initial course. The aim is for your skin to look fresher and better supported, not filled.
Downtime is generally minimal, although injectable treatments can cause temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising or small bumps at the injection sites, which usually settle following treatment. If you have an important event coming up, we'd always recommend leaving enough time between your appointment and the event in case you experience bruising or swelling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Hydromax good for accordion lines?
Accordion lines are one of the areas we particularly like Hydromax for. By improving hydration and providing subtle support within the skin, we can target the skin quality rather than simply trying to fill the lines.
Can Hydromax be used for crow's feet?
Yes, Hydromax can be used to improve fine lines and crepey skin around the outer eye area in appropriate clients. We'll assess the area first to decide whether Hydromax is the best option for you.
Does Hydromax hurt?
Most clients tolerate the treatment well. You may feel small scratches or stings during the injections, and we'll talk you through everything before we begin.
