What are Skin Boosters?

Skin Boosters are an injectable hyaluronic acid that acts as an internal moisturiser to hydrate the skin, improve the skin quality and give the skin an overall ‘boost’. The injectable also improves the skin’s elasticity, firmness and radiance by stimulating natural collagen production (we begin to lose collagen from age 30!). From reviving sun-damaged skin and smoothing wrinkles, to fading scars and stimulating natural healing processes, Skin Boosters provide long-term rejuvenation that lasts for up to 9 months.

How do Skin Boosters work?

The treatment involves a series of small, superficial injections on the top later of the skin. Skin Boosters contain hyaluronic acid (HA) and a blend of revitalizing compounds to restore skin radiance and vibrancy. HA occurs naturally in the body and acts as a moisture magnet to enhance cellular hydration, resulting in plump, healthy-looking skin. As we age, our HA levels reduce. By injecting it back into the skin, the lightweight hyaluronic acid molecules in the boosterpull in moisture and water from the body to moisturize and hydrate the treated skin area.

How long does the treatment take to work?

Skin Boosters are usually recommended in sessions or 2 or 3 and full results can be seen after around 4 weeks. After this time, you can repeat the treatment, or keep your skin replenished and ‘topped-up’ by having an individual treatment every 3-6 months.

What is the difference between Skin Boosters and Dermal Fillers?

Dermal Fillers aim to restore lost volume, contour and lift features, as well as slightly alter them. In contrast to fillers, Skin Boosters can be superficially injected throughout the face to effectively hydrate the skin and address specific areas that are prone to dehydration due to aging and skin dryness. Although they are both made primarily of Hyaluronic Acid, the consistency of Dermal Fillers is thicker than that of Skin Boosters and it is injected at a deeper level. If you are wanting an overall ‘boost’ in your skin rather than added volume to a specific area, Skin Boosters will be your best friend!

Is there any downtime with Skin Boosters?

With this treatment, downtime is minimal. After the treatment, you will have a series of small bumps at the injection points which reduce usually within a few hours after treatment. Light make-up can be applied to the area where necessary.

					  Been to Laura a few times now. She is amazing let me tell you. Had 2 different procedures with Laura, first Botox in my forehead, then dermaplaning. I’ve been to a few different aesthetics for my forehead and never really been too satisfied as it never seems to fully take affect. Laura didn’t stop until I was pleased with the result!! She is also extremely honest and doesn’t try and take your money ( I have been to a few places where they say you need treatments doing just for extra cash) Laura will tell you when you need something and when you don’t! My dermaplaning has also worked wonders,  my skin has never been in as good condition! She is extremely easy to talk to and everyone in the salon is really friendly!! Like the girls you meet in the toilet on a night out! Would definitely recommend them! Xx
