Microneedling
Would you like to improve the appearance of deep lines and wrinkles? Shrink open pores or improve the pitted appearance of acne scars?
Microneedling facial treatment can do this whilst also giving the skin a rejuvenated, fresh appearance.*
Microneedling is suitable for use on the face and body, for both male and female clients – including those who wish to treat stretch marks, surgical scars or loose skin.
It is a skin repair treatment that can help to significantly improve the appearance of ageing or scarred skin. It uses tiny needles attached to a pen device to gently puncture the skin causing a series of traumatic punctures on the skin. The result of this is that the skin responds to this by naturally producing collagen and elastin to repair itself. The production of collagen and elastin work to smooth and firm the skin, plumping out deep lines and improving the indented or red appearance of scars and stretch marks.
At saints we will assess your skin and will be able to advise how many microneedling sessions you will need to achieve your skin goals (usually, this is between 3-6 treatments). microneedling is less invasive than many alternative solutions and you can normally return to your daily activities straight away after treatment, although you may have some mild redness or swelling.

· Fine lines and wrinkles
· Acne scarring
· Facial scarring
· Enlarged pores
How does it work?
Dermapen uses a microneedling technique to create small, gentle punctures in the skin – the majority of which are simply pushing your pores open temporarily. Your skin reacts to any injury by initiating the healing process, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.
What does the Dermapen treatment involve?
The microneedling device will be applied over your skin, puncturing it with 1300 channels into the skin every second. By carefully causing these tiny punctures to your skin, we trigger a healing process that rejuvenates the skin, encourages collagen production, and reduces the appearance of lines, wrinkles and imperfections. A cocktail of serums is then chosen to further enhance the results of your treatment, depending on what your skincare needs are.
How many treatments will I need?
Results are visible following 6 weeks after your initial appointment. For best results, a course of 3 -8 treatments are recommended depending on your skin concerns;
Skin rejuvenation & Large Pores – 3 treatments recommended
Acne Scarring & Surgical Scars – 6 treatments recommended
Loose Skin – 6-8 treatments recommended
How long will it take?
The session itself lasts for around 20 minutes
Downtime
The treatment comes with a very minimal recovery period; you will be able to resume your daily life almost straight away. You may notice some redness or mild swelling, but this should subside within the first 24 hours of the procedure.
Side effects are rare, and on the occasions that they do occur, seldom last for more than 48 hours. Patients commonly notice some redness post-procedure (similar to sunburn), but this should subside in a short time. Other adverse effects can include, scarring, infection, trigger herpes simplex (in clients who suffer from cold sores).
Aftercare
Avoid extreme temperatures (hot water, saunas, etc.) and unnecessary contact with the treated area for 48 hours after treatment. High factor SPF is essential for 14 days post procedure and your practitioner may also recommend an optional soothing cream for your skin post-treatment.
